The Role of Parents
Pacific Learning Center is part of a
team that often includes other professionals and, most
importantly, parents. Parents are given frequent
feedback and reports on students' performance, and we
welcome parents' calls and visits.

To provide a safe, positive learning
environment that uses the most effective
teaching strategies to help each student
maximize his or her potential and gain

Our
Program
|
|
For most students, Pacific Learning Center
offers a short-stay transitional education. Our
goal is for students, when ready, to transition
out of our school in a step-by-step process.
Every student is different, but research shows
that incremental transitions into areas of
academic strength provide the best structure for
students' success. |
|
|
We recognize that enrolling a student in a new school is a serious
matter, and we encourage parents to make a thorough examination of the
placement options. We recommend that you visit various schools and talk
with parents of other students to see what option is best for you and
your child.
We ask that parents schedule an appointment to meet with us to
discuss your needs and our services and to give you a chance to tour our
facility and watch us work. We welcome a chance for your child to spend
some time visiting our various classes and meeting our students.
Starting a new school can be a difficult experience and we want you and
your child to feel comfortable with the decision.
We offer a variety of assessments for measuring student ability and
strengths. We do not offer intelligence testing, but we do cooperate and
contract with educational psychologists, speech-language, vision, and
occupational therapists, and other professionals.
We will be happy to discuss your child's needs and help you find the
correct school placement or professional service
